Favorite non-reading activity?

Travel. But I love to read on airplanes, so I’m not sure that counts.

Is your go to comfort food sweet or savory? Is it something you make yourself? Does food inspire your writing?

I am a savory person. Cheese to be precise. I love cheese of all types and in all formats: melted, sliced, grated, shaved. And food does inspire my writing. I love to have a scene or several set in restaurants. Working as a server and a host for many years in restaurants sticks with me in my imagination.

Do you have another artistic outlet in addition to your writing? Do you sew? Paint? Draw? Knit? Dance?

I love photography, I sometimes paint, and I’m always singing as long as no one is listening.

What do you worry about?

Everything. I have a very strong, genetic worry gene that pops up almost daily. At this moment, it’s the hurricane off the coast, and the associated wind. Tomorrow, when this passes, it will be something else. Yoga and meditation help with the worry gene I’ve found.

What brings you great joy?

My family.
