Is there a genre of music that influences your writing/thinking? Do you listen to music while you write?

I love music, it’s intrinsic in me. I enjoy most genres: classical, rock ‘n’ roll, calypso, reggae, country, rhythm ‘n’ blues, traditional jazz and all others, though I don’t listen to music in which people don’t sing but talk/shout their compositions which are often filled with profanities and insults to females. I'm primarily inspired by romantic love songs with sensual rhythms. My favorite instrumentals are those of steelpan orchestras. I don't usually listen to music when I write, I prefer to not be distracted and simply engross myself in my characters, their lives, and appropriate scenarios. Nevertheless, when I need to use certain songs in my stories, which I love to do, I might sing the chosen songs endlessly for hours.

What period of history do you wish you knew more about?

The period Before Common Era of the last two millennia, when Goddesses, and Goddesses and Gods together, reigned supreme all over the known world. Proof of more equality of both genders in those times is still being unearthed in archaeological sites across the globe. Most people today are ignorant about the type of bullying, patriarchal, barbarian men that spawned the major patriarchal religions of the last two plus millenia, under which females are still oppressed, even though the Bible describes in detail the torture and murders of worshippers called “pagans,” who had refused to give up their primarily Goddess religions. It is our duty as humans in this era, to learn the true history of religions so we can stop buying into the need for patriarchal rule, which, because of testosterone in males makes them inclined to be more aggressive. When the planet has gender equality in power, we stand the best chance of stopping ongoing destructive wars and conflicts, and will finally be able to save this planet and achieve peace on earth.

Do you collect anything? If so, what, why, and for how long?

I am guilty of being a collector of several things, including books, artworks of all kinds (even handbags and costume jewelry), antiques, crystal and china. I have the soul of an artist/creator, and greatly appreciate the unique creativity of others. Although I have eclectic tastes, I’m particularly attracted to the unusual, and sparkly. I started collecting books and various things from when I was a young air-hostess, then a teenage bride, and continued collecting for many years, both at home and while traveling the world.

Do you have another artistic outlet in addition to your writing? Do you sew? Paint? Draw? Knit? Dance?

I have always loved creating and when I find time in between writing, I indulge in several artistic endeavors including drawing, painting, sewing and embroidery. In 1965, I created my own medium that the media named “Unique Staining On Wood,” which led to a lucrative art career and my winning ‘The Prize Of Excellence’ in a 52 country competition in Tonneins Museum in France. Dancing is another natural fun outlet for me and I dance whenever and wherever possible.

What brings you great joy?

My family. I am married to my childhood sweetheart. We have been blessed with 3 children, 2 sons-in-law, 5 grand-children, and 2 great-grand-children, and although, apart from my husband, I don't see them all as often as I would love, just thinking about them lifts my spirit, brings me great joy, and fills my heart to overflowing.
