Favorite non-reading activity?

My favorite thing when not reading (or writing) is to swim, hike, or be outside.

Is there another profession you would like to try?

If I could do it all over again, I think I would study neuroscience or neuroplasticity. Or work with animals.

What’s the difference (at least for you!) between being a writer and an author? How do you shift gears between the two?

I spent the majority of my young life as a writer, not an author. Being published, whether you are self-published or traditionally published, makes you an author, but to me, being a writer is something that your spirit decides; being an author is something that makes you money.

If you could create a museum exhibition, what would be the theme?

My friend and I had a business idea to create museum exhibitions for people who want to celebrate their lives: either a celebration of life exhibit for a loved one who has passed (instead of a funeral), or a birthday or anniversary celebration. When you enter the museum, you are literally immersed into that person's life from childhood to adulthood. Each wing symbolizes the food, objects, symbols, and sounds that person loved... it would be a living, breathing, interactive installation.

What brings you great joy?

Feeling completely in my worth; my daughter's laugh; watching the sunrise; being connected to myself, my community, and others; realizing that the only thing I can control is how I feel...feeling present; being immersed in nature; a good, hot cup of coffee on a cool, crisp day. The list is endless.
